About Saifun Semiconductors

A wholly-owned subsidiary of Spansion Inc., Saifun Semiconductors Ltd. is a key research and development center for Spansion and is also responsible for serving Spansion IP licensees. Saifun’s team of development experts are dedicated to enabling the seamless integration of Spansion solutions into a variety of end products and delivering maximum system-level performance. Saifun’s development experts accompany customers from design to production helping them bring more innovative, high performance and cost-effective products to market in the shortest possible time.

History

Spansion and Saifun have been working together since 2002. In 2008, Spansion announced it would acquire Saifun in a definite merger agreement. Combining the IP from both companies – Spansion’s MirrorBit® technology expertise with Saifun’s NROM IP – has created a large portfolio of both floating-gate IP and charge-trapping technology IP. Together, by providing comprehensive system-level solutions that reduce time-to-market and design complexity, we enable customers to bring added differentiation to their end products, increasing the value we provide as a Flash memory solutions provider. Spansion brings the expertise of enabling high volume commercialization for new generations of Flash memory technology, while the Saifun team’s deep licensing knowledge makes rapidly accelerating all technology programs possible. By joining forces, Saifun continues to support all of its existing licensees with an even stronger commitment and dedication as a Spansion subsidiary.
