Spansion’s Total Rewards Program


At Spansion, we believe our employees are our greatest investment. In order to attract, retain and reward high caliber employees in every region of the world, we have designed the Total Rewards Program to ensure our people feel valued, appreciated and well provided for. Our comprehensive compensation and benefits package includes:

Spansion’s Total Rewards Programs are offered all over the globe, but the specifics vary in each country. The following brief description of the programs applies primarily to the US.

Healthcare Benefits


Medical Benefits
Spansion offers a range of quality health care coverage options through United Healthcare (UHC) and Kaiser (Northern CA only) for employees and their eligible dependents ensuring employees and their families get the cost-effective and flexible coverage they need. Spansion pays approximately 85% of our employees’ healthcare premiums, and coverage begins on your first day of work.

Dental Benefits
Spansion offers two nationwide dental plans through United Healthcare (UHC).

Vision Benefits
Contacts, lenses and frames are all generously covered through our Vision Service Plan (VSP).

Flex Spending Account Plan
Spansion offers both Health Spending and Dependent Care Accounts. Access to online account information and a consumer account card makes it easy and convenient for you to keep track of your accounts and pay for eligible expenses from your flexible spending accounts.

EAP - Employee Assistance Program
Services for employees and their dependents include free short-term counseling, child and elder care referrals. Spansion pays the full cost of this benefit.

Compensation and Recognition


Spansion believes in providing competitive pay for our employees. We have a “pay for performance” compensation philosophy that is designed to attract achievers, align employees with key business objectives and differentiate rewards based on results. Following are a number of worldwide programs to support our Total Rewards Program:

Profit Sharing
Our profit sharing programs provide eligible employees the opportunity to share in the financial success of the company. Eligible employees have the opportunity to receive an annual cash bonus based on the financial results achieved by the company. Eligible employees generally include employees below the Vice President level.

Member of Technical Staff (MTS) Program
It is critical to Spansion’s long-term success that our team of engineers and scientists continue to represent the highest level of technical knowledge. The MTS program is a global program designed to recognize, reward, and advance outstanding technical contributors through a challenging technical career ladder.

Spansion has several programs that allow quick and meaningful cash awards to recognize achievements of individuals and teams who have made extraordinary contributions to the company.

Retirement Savings Plan


Spansion Retirement Savings Plan - 401(k)
Spansion is committed to helping our employees prepare for the future. We offer a 401(k) plan through Fidelity with a variety of investment options to choose from. The Company matches 50 cents on the dollar on the first 6% of pay contributed and vesting is immediate. All employees who are 50 or older by December 31 may make pre-tax catch-up contributions in addition to regular contributions. You can easily access your account on line and use the many tools available to help you make wise investment choices.

Life and Accident Insurance


The Spansion life and accident insurance programs help provide financial security and protection for you and your family. U.S. employees are provided with Basic Life Insurance coverage at 1.5 times their annual salary at no cost to you.

Supplemental employee life, Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage, as well as dependent life coverage is available to eligible employees at group rates.

Disability Insurance
Spansion employees can choose to enroll in the Spansion Disability Plan which provides income replacement of 66 2/3% of base pay. Employee benefits under the plan are tax-free thereby increasing the value.

Work-Life Balance


Spansion understands the need for our employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance so we offer generous vacation/time-off incentives and resources to maintain a healthy life style.

Paid Time Off


Vacation
Exempt employees receive 3 weeks of vacation per year, and eligible non-exempt employees receive 80 hours per year. Both exempt and nonexempt employees are eligible for 4 weeks of vacation after 8 years of service.

Illness
In addition to vacation time off, Spansion provides additional paid time off due to personal illness or to attend to the illness of immediate family members.

Holidays
We offer 11 paid holidays each year which includes paid time off between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Sabbatical
Spansion provides eligible employees with a two-week sabbatical, with full salary, after each 5 years of full-time service.

Work/Life Balance Services


Based on site and location, employees may also have access to additional services such as:

Fitness Center/Recreation Opportunities
For U.S. employees, contractors and eligible family members, Spansion offers subsidized memberships at onsite fitness facilities. Recreational activities are available including fitness classes (such as yoga, spinning, kickboxing and step aerobics) and personal training; on-site massage; basketball tournaments; basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball leagues; golf and tennis clubs; flag football games; and an annual 5K run/walk.

Additional perks include on-site ATM machines, cafeteria, commute alternatives and shuttle services to and from train stations, nationwide discounts and more. Spansion also provides access to free resource services and seminars covering a variety of topics including parenting, healthy lifestyles, financial planning, eldercare and more.

Additional Benefits


Tuition Reimbursement
Spansion is also willing to make an investment in your educational development. Qualified educational expenses up to $7500 per year will be reimbursed for work-related coursework, certificates, degree programs and foreign language training.

Employee Referral Program
Our people are key to our success and who better to help build Spansion’s workforce with talented people but our employees. Spansion encourages employees to recommend the talent and expertise of their inner circle of friends and may award you up to a $3000 bonus if your friend accepts our employment offer.

Employee Giving Program (Matching Gift) and the Volunteer Match Website
Spansion is committed to supporting our community, and we are proud that our employees have been consistently generous with their own time and money to help so many community causes. Spansion’s Employee Giving Program supports employees’ community interests by providing up to $3000 per calendar year for eligible matching gifts.
