-- Feb. 14, 2008
--
Spansion’s George Minassian, vice president of Strategic Planning & Systems Engineering for the Wireless Solutions Division (WSD), has been selected to give a presentation at Mobile World Congress (MWC) titled, "Connecting the Unconnected With Ultra Low-Cost Handsets for Emerging Markets". The presentation will highlight several issues including:
- Why Flash memory is pivotal in enabling the ULC system solution and how companies like Spansion can be the linchpin to bring together competing companies to connect the unconnected.
- How innovative breakthroughs can reduce costs to handset and help win the race to get phones down to a significantly lower overall cost BOM.
- Why emerging markets want and need to be connected and the market to reach the next billion subscribers.
The MWC, held annually in Barcelona, Spain, brings together eminent leaders and personalities from mobile operators, equipment vendors, the Internet and the world of entertainment, featuring the latest in technology, services, and developments.
George will additionally be a part of a panel discussion on “Technology to reach the bottom of the pyramid”. He will be sharing the stage with some of the mobile industry elites including, Eric Pradier, vice president of Services Organization from Motorola, Ken Pawlak of Unlimited Potential Group from Microsoft, Rauno Granath, head of New Growth Markets from Nokia Siemens Networks and Dan Robinovitsj, senior vice president & general manager of Cellular Systems, NXP.
