Dr. Bertrand Cambou
President and Chief Executive Officer

Bertrand Cambou is Spansion’s president and CEO. As Spansion’s leader and visionary, Cambou defines Spansion’s strategic direction and brings focus to the company’s ultimate objective—redefining the NOR Flash memory and creating solutions that are considered vital and strategic to customers in their ability to innovate.

A recognized technology innovator having authored 15 U.S. patents thus far, Cambou brings more than 21 years of industry specific leadership experience to his current position.

Up until Spansion’s public offering, Cambou also served at AMD, first as group vice president of AMD’s Memory Group, and then as an executive vice president. Prior to AMD, he held the position of chief operating officer of Gemplus International S.A., a leading company in the smartcard industry. He was a board member of Gemplus International as well as Ingenico, an industry leader in terminals for secure e-transactions.

Cambou’s diverse and extensive background in the technology industry includes a 15-year tenure with Motorola where he held various management positions. His appointments include senior vice president and general manager of the Networking and Computing System Group.

Cambou holds an engineering degree from Supelec, Paris, and a doctorate in electronics from Paris XI University.
