Community
At Spansion, we believe that the success of our company and well-being of our employes are directly related to the well-being of the communities in which we operate. We recognize our responsibility to give back to our communities and we make our investments in three strategic focus areas: Education, Basic Needs, and Community Development. Our programs in each of these core giving areas bring together volunteerism, financial contributions and in-kind donations to meet the critical needs of our communities.
In each of our locations worldwide, a team of leaders within the company directs these investments – whether monetary or in-kind - to insure that they fit within our philanthropic and corporate strategy. Our corporate contributions through these strategic giving areas remained nearly the same for 2006 and 2007, at approximately $900,000 per year.
Education - We make investments to improve math and science education in primary and secondary schools to encourage and prepare students for higher education and careers in engineering.
Spansion employees understand and value the importance of giving back. Our employees donate their time and talents and provide philanthropic support through several programs. Through our Dollars for Doers program, Spansion provides financial support to non-profit organizations and schools where our employees volunteer.
