Spansion Joins Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC)

Spansion is pleased to announce membership into the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC). The EICC is a global organization that has developed a Code of Conduct that is considered an industry best practice. Adopted and implemented by some of the world’s major electronics brands and suppliers, the EICC Code is intended to improve conditions in the electronics supply chain by fostering the highest level of performance across a range of company practices, including labor, health, safety, environmental, and ethics practices.

Spansion will apply the Electronic Industry Code of Conduct by progressively implementing the EICC approach and tools in the spirit of the industry’s common goals, both within the company, and with first tier suppliers.

Spansion is committed to the highest standards of product quality and business integrity, and wants to ensure that working conditions in our supply chain are safe, that workers are treated with respect and dignity, and that our manufacturing processes are environmentally and socially responsible. To confirm that our relationships with suppliers support these goals, Spansion has adopted the Electronic Industry Code of Conduct as our Supplier Code of Conduct.

The EICC Code is rapidly becoming the industry standard for social responsibility in the electronics sector.
